Look around you. You see buildings and roads; you drink clean water and breathe clean air. Civil engineers, together with other disciplines, make these aspects of everyday life possible! Through the hard work and dedication of these engineers, every one of us are able to live the lives we do. Without them, our infrastructure and way of life would be very different.
As a civil engineering chapter, we are committed to promoting these qualities and assisting our fellow engineers, as well as aspiring engineers, whenever possible. The Latin saying, "E Pluribus Unum", meaning "Out of many, One", directly applies to what we do. Everything that occurs within the student chapter, whether it is in the classroom or in our competition teams, requires us to work together. Through this, our members learn skills that they would have never learned in the classroom. Friendships are made and remarkable memories will be treasured.
While there is no magic formula in achieving your personal and career goals, we believe that being a part of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) is a valuable step in accomplishing these goals. Our competition teams give members the hands on experience of what they are studying in the classroom. Our members work diligently in providing personal and academic success to everyone within our chapter. As well as providing assistance in kick-starting your professional career, and having a great and relaxing time between classes. We are there for you every step of the way.
No matter what you are studying or interested in, whether it may be STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) or liberal arts, we welcome everyone. Come by and see us in Scrugham Engineering and Mines (SEM119) we would love to meet you!
