Current Student Officers
President - Emily McKenzie
Emily is a junior environmental engineering student pursuing minors in biology, chemistry, and renewable energy. She got involved with ASCE through concrete canoe her first semester at UNR. She was then asked to be Vice President of the student chapter. After being given the presidency of the UNR Student Chapter, she decided her goal would be to create relationships between the five competition teams and focus on providing more career development events. Additionally, she wants to create a thorough student government to help transitioning between old and new student officers. She also wants to gain more leadership and organization skills before heading into the workforce.
Vice President - Bethany-Anne Calvert
Bethany is a junior mechanical engineering student. After getting involved with concrete canoe her first semester at UNR, Bethany was asked to be Recruitment Chair her second semester. This semester she plans to help redefine the roles and leadership system of the student officers.
Events Coordinator - Libby Elliott
Libby is a sophomore civil engineering student. She is also one of the 2020 UNR Concrete Canoe Team project managers. Her goal is to inspire students to join ASCE and learn more about how it can jump start their career!
Fundraising Coordinator - Colton Dodge
Colton is a sophomore civil engineering student. He is also one of the 2020 UNR Concrete Canoe Team project managers. After being involved with concrete canoe his first semester at UNR, Colton wanted to become apart of the organization that hosted the competition himself. He hopes to gain experience with communication and finance by working with the ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch and local civil engineering companies to help the UNR student chapter thrive.
Media Coordinator - Alyvia Briscoe
Alyvia is a sophomore civil engineering student. After getting involved with concrete canoe her first semester, she was asked to manage media for the student chapter of ASCE. She hopes to utilize the strength of social media outreach to help with member recruitment and retention.
Recruitment Chair - Sam Violago
Sam is a sophomore civil engineering student. After being involved in concrete canoe his first semester, Sam was asked to join the student officers in hopes to help member recruitment and retention. He joined ASCE because he saw the future benefits in making connections with local engineering firms before graduating. From competition teams to numerous volunteering events to meeting great people inside the club, it made his first year of college unforgettable. He hopes to encourage people to take the same steps he did to make their first year of college amazing and their future career bright!
Treasurer - Matt Morrison
Matt is a sophomore civil engineering student. After being involved with concrete canoe his first semester, Matt was asked to be the treasurer of the ASCE student chapter. He hopes to create relationships that will benefit me once I graduate and be better prepared for entering the workforce.
Secretary - Sam Triest
Sam is a junior environmental engineering student. After being involved with Water Treatment, Sam decided to become a student officer to learn more about the industry and meet like-minded students. Her goal was to get the Water Treatment team more involved in ASCE and was essential in creating relationships between all the competition teams. She hopes to encourage her peers to take advantage of all the opportunities that ASCE can provide students.
